Squidoo FAQs

Of course there are tons of FAQ on Squidoo, from Squidoo, and a squid zillion other sources. But I do like making my own. And this here short list is for absolute Squid-bies (new Squidoo babies). Too often, the FAQ list is so long and comprehensive that it serve initially more to overwhelm than to help. Well, be underwhelmed here!

How do you find a lensmaster?: You can use SquidWho - where you can find lots of (famous) people .. or maybe not so famous. Including lensmasters (people who write Squidoo articles). For instance, I was looking for Seth Godin's lenses and that is where I went.
You can also find SquidWho via Log In > My Dashboard > SquidWho (at bottom of page).
It is at time of writing, not very prominently displayed coz it is in beta stage of development. You can read more about SquidWho at their SquidWho FAQ page and maybe even create a fan page about someone yourself.
Where do I find Squidoo Help?: Go to Squidoo FAQ, then try the Squidoo Answer Deck, then try the SquidU forum to ask for help.
Can I find my own page without logging in?: Yes, or any other lensmaster. As long as you know the Squidoo username.
E.g. mine is ClearlyChosen (case insensitive)

What is the difference between a Lensroll and Favorite It?: You will see this roll of icons near the top of every Squidoo lens (page) you visit.

Lensroll: Lensroll lets you add a link to this particular lens from any of your own lenses. On clicking, you will be taken to the next page where you can select which of your lenses you would like this link added. On completion, on all of your lenses that you elected to have this link, the link will appear on the right hand bar of your lens' page under the heading "[your user name] Recommends ..

If you want to delete this link from any of your own lenses, just go into edit mode for that particular lens of yours. On the right hand side, under "Lensroll" you will find the option to delete the links.

Favorite It: When you click the "Favorite It" icon, you are saying in effect that you favour that particular lens. So on the right hand bar of that lens, you will be added to the "Favorited By" list.

Secondly, when you go back to your Squidoo Dashboard, under the "My Favorites" tab and under the "My Favorites" header (nearer to the bottom of the page), the lens you just "favorite it" will be added there. This is your collection of favorite lenses.

And should the writer of that lens send out a "Squidcast" about that lens, that squidcast will also appear in the top section of "My Favorites" ^[tab].
